The territory of the Devnya - Aksakovo MIG covers the administrative borders of the Devnya and Aksakovo municipalities. It is located in the northern part of the Varna region in the North-Eastern planning region, and occupies an area of 581.54 square km. It borders the municipalities: European Structural and Investment Funds 7 Valchi dol, Vetrino, Suvorovo, Provadia, Avren, Beloslav, Varna. The territory has continuous borders and covers all 26 settlements of the two municipalities. From Aksakovo municipality: 2 towns and 21 villages, from Devnya municipality: 1 town and 2 villages. The total population on the territory of the "Devnya-Aksakovo" MIG is 30,859 inhabitants according to NSI data as of 31.12.2020
The territory of the "Devnia - Aksakovo" MIG falls in the eastern wine-growing region - Chernomorski. It is among the most interesting regions in terms of climate and soil characteristics related to wine production. It has a mild, sea-influenced, temperate climate. Autumn is warm, dry and long, which is very favorable for the accumulation of enough sugars to produce fine white wines. White varieties such as Dimyat, Riesling, Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, June Blanc, Traminer, Sauvignon Blanc, which produce grapes of excellent quality, are grown here. In this region, some of the best dry and semi-dry wines in our country are produced, which combine a pleasant fruity aroma, a dense taste and an elegant freshness.
